Have You Seen Her? Berkeley Hit-and-Run Suspect Sought by Cops

Lacisha Atkins, a 45 year old Berkeley woman, is wanted in connection with a hit-and-run in which a bicyclist suffered serious injuries.

BERKELEY, CA -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a woman who's suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run incident last month that left a victim with serious injuries.

At 3:46 pm on March 2, officers responded to the intersection of Ashby Avenue and Fulton Street on a report of hit and run collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. The driver fled about five blocks down Ashby, abandoning the car on Otis Street, according to police.

The victim, Julian Curran, 75, hit and run was hospitalized with with a severely broken leg. Curran, the owner of Curran Construction LLC in Berkeley, died at home in early April, but it was undetermined whether his death was related to the injuries.

Lacisha Atkins, a 45 year old Berkeley woman, is wanted in connection with the hit and run and there is currently a felony warrant for her arrest, according to Berkeley Police.

Anyone with information about Atkins' whereabouts is asked to contact the BPD’s Homicide Unit at (510) 981-5741.
