​Hop On Out For Berkeley’s Annual Spring​ Egg Hunts

The city will hold two events a nighttime egg hunt and a traditional Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza April 7 and 8.

BERKELEY, CA — Children of all ages looking to score some spring treats should hop on over to the city of Berkeley's Grove and Willard parks April 7 and April 8 for some spring time fun featuring a glow in the dark egg hunt and visits with the Spring Bunny.

The fun kicks off April 7 when kids in 5th through 8th grade are invited to fire up their flashlights for the after-dark Friday glow-in-the-dark egg hunt with a chance to win a grand prize of a Nintendo Switch, the city of Berkeley announced in a news release.

The event will be held at Grove Park, 1730 Oregon Street from 7 to 9 p.m., the city said. interested youths can pre-register online for this free event.

Kids of all ages are sure to enjoy the Annual Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza Saturday, April 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Willard Park, 2720 Hillegass Avenue.

Featuring a petting zoo, a visit with the Spring Bunny, arts and crafts, a kid's carnival with fun prizes, and Bunny Hop dance lessons, this event will hold egg hunts for children from 1-10 years old based on age at specific times, the city said.

"Youth 11 years old and up can come at any time for the scavenger hunt," the city said, adding that while registration onsite is allowed for both events, parents can save time by pre-registering on the city's online recreation portal.

The Egg Hunt will be divided into 20-minute increments starting at 10 a.m. Arrive 30 minutes ahead of time for same-day registration:

  • 1 year old: 10 a.m.
  • 2 years old: 10:20 a.m.
  • 3 years old: 10:40 a.m.
  • 4 years old: 11 a.m.
  • 5-6 years old: 11:20 a.m.
  • 7-8 years old: 11:40 a.m.
  • 9-10 years old: Noon
  • 11+: Scavenger Hunt - ongoing
