La Peña Community Chorus To Perform 'I Have A Dream' Concert

The Bay Area Premier of the concert will be held Saturday, March 23, 7:30pm at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley.

BERKELEY, CA — La Peña Community Chorus will present the concert, “I Have A Dream,” in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Saturday, March 23, 7:30pm at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley.

The group, which has been singing for peace, solidarity and social justice since 1978, will present the Bay Area premiere of the new concert based on Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech that he delivered 60 years ago during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

Special guests at the event include composer John Maas who wrote the stirring new piece for narrator, chorus and piano, Benjamin Mertz, and members of Vukani Mawethu.
