Power Mostly Restored In Berkeley

BERKELEY, CA — Pacific Gas and Electric Company reports that a large power outage in Berkeley, affecting 1,702 customers, has been mostly repaired.

The power went out at 10:37 a.m. By 1:15 p.m., less than 200 customers will still in the dark.

Crews continue to work on the problem, but there is no estimate of when electricity will be fully restored.

"Our preliminary determination is that your outage was caused by the weather," PG&E said on its outage center map.

A high wind warning is in effect for Berkeley as a strong winter storm moves through the Bay Area.
