Man Arrested For Sexual Battery Of Berkeley Student: Police

The crime happened in Martin Luther King, Jr. Civic Center Park, according to police.

BERKELEY, CA — Police in Berkeley on Thursday arrested a man suspected in the sexual battery of a high school student.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man around noon on suspicion of inappropriately touching a female high school student Wednesday in Martin Luther King, Jr. Civic Center Park.

The alleged victim said she had been walking on the sidewalk when she was confronted by the man, who then touched her inappropriately.

Working in tandem with Berkeley High School officials and a school resource officer, police identified the suspect, and he was arrested, the department said.
