Spate Of Berkeley Armed Robberies Probed

All five incidents involved a firearm.

BERKELEY, CA — A spate of Berkeley armed robberies involving a firearm were reported last week, authorities said.

The UC Police Department announced four armed robberies – the first of which occurred Thursday night – within a 24-hour period in a series of alerts.

An additional armed robbery was reported by the Berkeley Police Department Thursday night.

The robberies may be related, according to the BPD.

At around 9 p.m. a robbery involving a gun occurred near the intersection of College Avenue and Channing Way, UC police said.

The suspect was last seen running away from the scene westbound on Channing Way.

An armed robbery involving a gun occurred Thursday in the area of Virginia Street and Le Roy Avenue, Berkeley police said.

At around 12:25 a.m. on Friday a robbery occurred in the area of Eucalyptus Grove/Grinnell Path at the wooden Bridge, on the west side of Weill Hall, police said.

The two suspects were last seen on foot eastbound, police said.

Another robbery occurred five minutes later in on Grinnell Path, police said. The two suspects were last seen traveling on foot eastbound, police said.

An additional robbery involving a gun occurred at the intersection of Dana and Parker streets, police said.
