Berkeley PD’s Special Response Team Arrests Alleged Gun Violence Suspect
One person was arrested after a high-risk search and arrest warrant related to gun violence was served on the unidentified suspect.

BERKELEY, CA — Members of the Berkeley Police Department’s Special Response Team, along with negotiators and detective bureau officers arrested an unidentified suspect on alleged gun violence charges Thursday, Sept. 1.
The arrested happened around 6 a.m., according to a social media posting by Berkeley Police.
“… Members of our Special Response Team (SRT), trained negotiators and officers from our Detective Bureau served a high-risk search and arrest warrant related to gun violence,” the law enforcement agency wrote in the post.

The SRT was “asked to assist with the execution of the search warrant due to the violent nature of the original crime where the suspect was armed with an assault rifle,” the Facebook post said.
According to the post, the SRT and negotiators were able to arrest the unidentified suspect into custody without incident.
