Woman's Cell Phone Grabbed Near UC Berkeley Campus
The victim threw her water bottle at the suspect, who responded by throwing her phone on the ground.
BERKELEY, CA — Police are investigating a robbery reported Monday near the University of California, Berkeley campus.
Police said that around noon Monday, a female was standing in the area of Oxford Street and Berkeley Way when a male suspect walked up to her and grabbed her phone out of her hand.
The victim reportedly threw her water bottle at the suspect, who threw her phone to the ground.

After retrieving her phone, the victim tried to take a photo of the suspect, but he pushed her and then fled with her water bottle. He headed north on Oxford Street, according to police.
The suspect is described as a male with short buzz-cut dark hair who was wearing gray one-piece coveralls over a red hoodie. He also had a black backpack with some paint marks on the front, according to police.
