$1M Raised For Homelessness At Salvation Army Beverly Hills Gala
Terry Crews and Rebecca King-Crews were honored at the gala for their philanthropic support in the fight against homelessness.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Salvation Army Southern California raised over $1 million for efforts to combat homelessness in the Southland at its annual Sally Awards Gala, according to the organization.
Hosted at the Beverly Wilshire, the May 30 gala supported the Salvation Army's local programs for adults, at-risk youth, veterans and seniors, with efforts focused on overcoming addiction and achieving sustainable living, according to the nonprofit.
The gala honored Terry Crews and Rebecca King-Crews with the Sally Award, "an award given to those whose professional lives and charitable efforts leave a legacy of doing the most good in Southern California," according to the Salvation Army.

"We are thrilled to honor Rebecca and Terry Crews for their unwavering commitment to our community and to recognize Bank of America for their substantial contributions. Their dedication inspires us all to strive for a better future for those in need," Major Lisa Barnes, the local Salvation Army's divisional secretary said.
Crews' advocacy against sexual harassment was highlighted by the organization, along with King-Crews' status as a breast cancer survivor who champions women's health.

The couple supported the Diane & John Mullin Pasadena Hope Center, a project aimed at providing housing and support services to formerly homeless people in the Pasadena area.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from The Salvation Army,” they said in a statement. “The work they do is transformative, and we are committed to supporting their mission to create lasting change for those in need."
