Beverly Hills School Leaders Return From Lobbying, Training In D.C.
BHUSD leaders met with lawmakers and attended trainings on Capitol Hill.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills Unified School District leaders have returned from a trip to Washington, D.C., where they met with lawmakers and other government leaders.
The three-day trip began last Monday and included school board President Noah Margo, Superintendent Michael Bregy; Assistant Superintendent, Business Services Raphael Guzman; and Executive Director, Communications and Strategic Initiatives Rebecca Starkins, according to a BHUSD release.
Their visit was part of the second annual Coast2Coast Federal Advocacy Trip organized by the California School Boards Association and the Association of California School Administrators. The organizations organized the trip to shine a light on issues impacting the Golden State's 6 million K-12 students.

The Beverly Hills leaders joined a day-and-a-half summit on California-specific education policy, a briefing on the current politics impacting educational policy and a networking event with D.C. figures and educators.
The second half of the trip included meetings on Capitol Hill, where the school leaders advocated their positions to the state congressional delegation, White House staffers, federal agency leaders and others.
