BHPD Closes Case on Whitney Houston's Death Investigation
There is no evidence of foul play in the singer's death.

The Beverly Hills Police Department has officially closed its formal investigation into the death of Whitney Houston after finding no evidence of foul play.
"Based on the findings of our investigation and our review of the coroner’s report we have determined that this is not a criminal matter," Lt. Mark Rosen said in a statement released Wednesday. "The BHPD investigation has been officially closed."
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office concluded in its that Houston's death was an "accident," listing the official cause of death as "drowning." Heart disease and cocaine were also considered to be .

Houston was found face-down in hot water in a hotel bathtub at the , according to the coroner's report. A spoon with a "white crystal-like substance" and remnants of a "white powdery substance" were found nearby. The BHPD has not identified those substances as cocaine.
Marijuana, Xanax, Benadryl and other drugs were also found in Houston's system but did not contribute to her death, according to the coroner's office.
