DUI Checkpoint Planned In Beverly Hills April 11
The BHPD plans to ramp up drunken-driving enforcement in the city.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Beverly Hills Police Department will ramp up drunken-driving enforcement on April 11 with a DUI checkpoint.
DUI checkpoint locations target areas with a record of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests. Police will also be checking to ensure drivers are properly licensed, according to the BHPD
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Chief Mark G. Stainbrook said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”

Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, according to police.
The checkpoint will take place Friday, April 11 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the area of North Santa Monica Boulevard and Crescent Drive.
