Holocaust Remembrance Screening Planned At Saban Theater
StandWithUs, the Temple of the Arts, the LA Museum of the Holocaust, and the Israeli and German consulates are hosting the screening.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Saban Theater will host a screening of the 2020 film "Resistance" as part of a Yom Ha'Shoah Remembrance event on April 17.
StandWithUs, the Temple of the Arts, the LA Museum of the Holocaust, and the Israeli and German consulates are planning the screening. The counsel generals of both consulates and a delegation of wounded IDF soldiers representing the organization Brothers for Life will participate in a candle-lightning ceremony prior to the screening.
The film, written and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz, stars Jesse Eisenberg as French actor and mime artist Marcel Marceau, who worked with a group of Jewish Boy Scouts and the French resistance to save the lives of thousands during the Holocaust.

"Marking Yom HaShoah with an educational film like 'Resistance' helps inspire people with the heroic acts performed by courageous people like Marcel Marceau, who fought for life and survival in the face of racism and murder," said Roz Rothstein, CEO of StandWithUs and a daughter of two Holocaust survivors. "There are so many lessons to learn from Holocaust survivors like Marceau, including determination, creativity, kindness, and that we must never succumb to bullies."
A VIP reception will be held at 5 p.m., the event begins at 6:15 p.m. and will be followed by a dessert reception for all.
