Keith Sterling Named Beverly Hills Deputy City Manager

Beverly Hills Public Information Officer Keith Sterling was named Deputy City Manager as beloved City Manager George Chavez retires.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills Chief Communications Officer Keith Sterling was appointed as Deputy City Manager just weeks after beloved long-term City Manager George Chavez retired.

In his new role, Sterling will help lead and implement city council and mayoral initiatives as well as overseeing the city's communications, marketing and economic sustainability projects. He will continue to work with the Team Beverly Hills program and work with staff on reports for council meetings, according to the city.

“I am thrilled to welcome Keith to this critical role,” said City Manager Nancy Hunt-Coffey. “Since joining the City, he has led our communications program through tremendous growth and success and I know his diverse skill set will continue to benefit the City organization and the Beverly Hills community for years to come.”

Sterling has worked with the city since 2018 and previously served as the media spokesperson for other public agencies. He was appointed Chief Communications Officer in 2021.

"Thank you to Mayor Bosse, the City Council and our new City Manager Nancy Hunt-Coffey for the honor and privilege of serving as your new Deputy City Manager," Sterling said in an Instagram post.

Sterling's communications work will be overtaken by Lauren Santillana, Public Information Manager.
