South L.A. Students to Rally in Honor of Trayvon Martin
The Florida teenager was killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer.

More than 100 African-American and Latino students from South Los Angeles are expected to march from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the Fremont High School campus in L.A. to protest the death of Trayvon Martin.
Martin, 17, was killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, Fla., after a trip to 7-Eleven. George Zimmerman, 28, claims he shot the African-American youth in self-defense. He had told a 911 dispatcher that Martin, who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, looked "real suspicious."
The attorney counseling Zimmerman, Craig Sonner, has stated, "George Zimmerman suffered a broken nose and had an injury to the back of his head—he was attacked by Trayvon Martin on that evening."

The teenager was carrying a bag of Skittles and an Arizona Ice Tea when he was killed. Zimmerman, a white Hispanic, has not been arrested for the shooting, sparking national outrage.
Last Friday, President Barack Obama addressed the tragedy, saying, "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon."
