BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A 17-year-old faces criminal charges after surveillance footage shows him vandalizing a Beverly Hills home, authorities said.

The vandalism occurred around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of North Beverly Drive, according to Giovanni Trejo, public information officer with the Beverly Hills Police Department.

"Detectives are still collecting information from the homeowner, and criminal charges will be filed against the suspect," Trejo said.

Surveillance video obtained by KTLA shows the teen trying to enter a house seemingly under construction, eventually getting into the house and kicking around items like boxes. He caused around $20,000 in damage, the person who had the footage told KTLA. Police did not confirm the amount of damage.
