Where To Find A Cooling Center In Beverly Hills Amid Extreme Heat Wave
The city offered a number of spaces for residents to cool down as temperatures skyrocket across Los Angeles County.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — As temperatures soar across Los Angeles, the city of Beverly Hills opened cooling centers for overheated residents.
Southern California continued to bake Thursday under sweltering conditions that are expected to stretch through the Labor Day weekend — with excessive heat warnings in effect across the region.
The protracted heat wave began pushing up temperatures Tuesday, marking the onset of an expected weeklong period of oppressive conditions. The forecast has prompted calls for residents to take precautions against heat stroke and to conserve power whenever possible, with state officials warning of possible strain on California's electrical grid.

In Beverly Hills, temperatures were expected to climb over 94 degrees by the holiday weekend. Wednesday kicked off the heat wave, and by midmorning Thursday Beverly Hills reached 89 degrees. By Sunday, Beverly Hills was expected to see a high of 94 degrees and a high of 91 on Monday.
The city opened a number of cooling centers for residents to beat the heat. Each center will be open daily through Monday:
