Highway 87 Motorcycle Crash Delays Traffic

The collision at 10:32 a.m. Monday involved a motorcycle and a vehicle, according to CHP.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — All lanes are now open on northbound state Highway 87 in San Jose after at least one was closed due Monday morning to a motorcycle versus vehicle crash, according to a CHP spokesman. Officer Ross Lee said that as of 10:32 a.m. he believed all lanes were open. Lee said that only the motorcycle rider suffered injuries, which were minor, and was transported to a hospital.

San Jose fire spokespeople said that one of their engines was called to the scene but was told upon arrival by county ambulance staff that the vehicle was not needed. Firefighters were packed up and off scene by 9:45
a.m., spokespeople confirmed.

Traffic from the closures was causing a delay between just north of the Curtner Avenue exit and Alma Street but it is possible it extended even further south.
