Two Burglary Suspects Arrested By Campbell Police

A transient taking the bait was taken in, along with a Los Gatos man. Police have connected the two this week with multiple burglaries.

CAMPBELL, CA -- Police have cashed in on two men allegedly associated with a number of burglaries in the area.

Jacob Mahoney, 23, of Los Gatos was wanted in connection with an auto theft in Campbell. He was located Tuesday on the 1800 block of Bascom Avenue and found in possession of multiple items reported stolen. Investigators consequently connected him with several other auto burglaries. Mahoney was booked on those charges as well as a parole violation.

Police also took Travis Freudenblum, a 25-year-old transient, into custody for stealing a Campbell Police bait bike from a resident's porch. Campbell has been using this program as a new way to catch criminals in the act. After he was picked up, officers discovered he was in possession of tools to aid in burglaries and a methamphetamine pipe. He also had three outstanding warrants totaling $27,500.

"We believe these two suspects are responsible for multiple auto burglaries and thefts," Capt. Gary Berg said.
