“Perfectly prepared” steaks and “outstanding” seafood have earned West Steak and Seafood a 27 in the Top Food Category in Zagat’s 2013 San Diego City Guide. Previously rated a 24, the rare three-point jump places the Carlsbad restaurant on the Top 5 Seafood and Top 5 Steak lists. West was one of only two restaurants in San Diego to earn a 27 in both categories, which was the highest rating awarded in each category.
Known for its authentic farm-to-table approach, most of all the herbs, fruits, and vegetables served at West Steak and Seafood are sourced from the restaurant’s private, three-acre farm, located just a few miles away. Seasonal menus are crafted based on chefs’ select plantings which include over 25 different varieties.
“We are incredibly proud of this distinction,” said Tom Bertrand, general manager for West Steak and Seafood. “Chef Eugenio Martignago’s creativity in the kitchen with his “Chef’s Creations” menu and nightly specials inspired by his daily visits to our own West Farm, helped us place amongst the top San Diego steak and seafood restaurants.”
