California Pacific Airlines Hopes to Fly in November
The new airline based out of Carlsbad is working on getting FAA certified and then can hire employees and get the plane off the ground flying commercially.
California Pacific Airlines (CP Air) has a new CEO and a new sense of optimism that the airline will be able to start serving the Carlsbad community and beyond by the end of the year.
CEO John Selvaggio said Wednesday that the process for FAA certification is going much better but a new group of people from the FAA reviewing CP Air's application.
Once the FAA approval is in place, Selvaggio said flights will begin probably about three months after that once hiring is complete and the airline is set up to take credit cards and reservations.

The new goal date for wheels up, is sometime in November or December of this year.
