Carlsbad Crime Blotter: Deceased Male Found and Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested
Carlsbad police were busy Thursday afternoon investigating a dead body in a riverbed south of Highway 78 and west of El Camino Real and capturing a burglar in the 4000 block of Crescent Point in Carlsbad.

Deceased Male Body Found
On August 29, 2013 at 4:18 P.M., the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a report of a deceased male in the riverbed south of Highway 78 and west of El Camino Real. Officers were directed by Carlsbad Fire Department medics to a tent in heavy brush in which the subject was located. Carlsbad Fire Department paramedics had determined the subject was deceased. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office was contacted and took possession of the subject. Identification and cause of death of the subject will be determined by the M.E.’s office. Further inquiries should be directed to the County M.E. office.
Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested

On August 29, 2013 at 3:16 P.M., the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a call of a suspicious subject looking in backyards and houses in the 4000 block of Crescent Point in Carlsbad, CA. Investigating officers observed a male subject inside a house rifling through the owner’s belongings. A perimeter around the house was established and when officers entered the residence to search for the subject he jumped out a second story window in an attempt to flee. With the assistance of a police canine, 39 year-old Vista resident, Kenneth Allen Lowary was taken into custody and arrested for residential burglary, and resisting arrest. Lowary is currently being treated for his injuries and will be booked into the Vista Jail.
