Carlsbad Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday at the Senior Center
Mayor Matt Hall presented Jean Ember with a proclamation at the luncheon.
"One hundred is the new 80," read a sign at Jean Ember's birthday party Wednesday at the Carlsbad Senior Center.
Seniors in attendence were treated to lunch, dessert and balloon hats!
"My birthday party is excellent, thank you," said Jean to Carlsbad Patch.
Jean's daughter said her mom eats cheesecake and friend foods, but is still healthy for 100 years old.
Jean is originally from Brooklyn and has lived in Carlsbad since 1996.
