Suspect Arrested In Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Teen In North County
The boy suffered major injuries and was in critical condition at the hospital, sheriff's officials said last week.

SAN MARCOS, CA — A man was arrested in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a teenager riding an e-bike last week in northern San Diego County, authorities announced Tuesday.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. Sept. 17 near the intersection of West Mission and Knoll roads in San Marcos, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said a pickup truck struck the teen and then fled the scene.
The boy suffered major injuries and was in critical condition at the hospital, sheriff's officials said last week.

Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station on Thursday served a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Rancheros Drive. Acting on an anonymous tip, deputies searched the property and found the 2021 white GMC Sierra pickup truck believed to have been involved in the crash.
The truck was impounded as evidence, officials said. Additional evidence was also obtained from the home.

Alan Reyes, 23, was arrested and taken into custody shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday, officials said. He surrendered at the San Marcos Sheriff's Station under the advisement of his lawyer. Reyes was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured it on a dash camera was asked to call the San Marcos Sheriff's Station at 760-510-5200.
