Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Pedestrian Fatally Struck In North County Crash
Deputies and paramedics provided life-saving measures, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Jeremy Collis said.
SAN MARCOS, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck in North County and the driver behind the wheel was arrested on suspicion of DUI, authorities said.
The crash happened at 11L41 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of West San Marcos Boulevard in San Marcos, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. The pedestrian was found in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Collis said. Investigators determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol, and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
