4th Of July Fire Quickly Stopped Near Lake Chabot
The fire was held to under 10 acres.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — No injuries were reported Tuesday night when Alameda County firefighters halted a grass fire near Lake Chabot in Castro Valley.
The Alameda County Fire Department tweeted around 11:30 p.m. that it was responding to a vegetation fire at in the 17900 block at Lake Chabot Road.

An hour later, firefighters reported that forward progress had been stopped.

The total number of fires in the East Bay on July 4 is not immediately available, but Contra Costa Fire reports that it responded to at least 50 fireworks related fires. All were quickly contained.
