Castro Valley Gas Prices Rise: See Bay Area Comparisons
Prices have risen more than a dollar a gallon since this time last year.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Gas prices continue to rise in Castro Valley and all of Alameda County, but are typically less than the rest of the Bay Area, according to figures released Monday by the Automobile Association of America.
California has the highest gas prices in the nation — $4.70 today, $4.68 one week ago, $4.65 one month ago and $3.47 one year ago.
The nation's average is $3.48, up nearly five cents from a week ago and 18 cents higher than a month ago. The national average one year ago was $2.50.

There are three counties in California where the price of gas is higher than San Francisco —Mono, Humboldt and Del Norte.
