Castro Valley Says Thank You: 30 Days Of Gratitude

We asked Patch readers who they're grateful for. Here's what your neighbors in Castro Valley had to say.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — This November, Patch is celebrating "30 Days of Gratitude," stories about living with gratitude — in simple terms, a deliberate choice to see the goodness and joy in your life and to wish the same for your neighbors.

Living with gratitude is a matter of continually counting one's blessings while at the same time recognizing that the source of goodness in one's life is other people.

Earlier this month, we asked Castro Valley residents to share who or what they were grateful for. Here's what your neighbors had to say.

"He has never met a stranger"

"I am SO Grateful for my Wonderful husband Danny Strother. He worked as a Custodian for Castro Valley Elementary for 18 years as their custodian. He was much more than that. He would help everyone with all of traised 5 nieces and nephews and has dedicated an amount of extra Love and time to driving them back and forth to school and all of their sporting events. He has never met a stranger, and is always feeding homeless people. He truly is a dreamboat of a man, and I am Lucky to be able to call him mine. Thank You!"

"I am grateful for nearly 13 years with my beautiful daughter Lana, who was tragically killed by a hit and run driver in Castro Valley in February 2020. She taught me the true meaning of Love, and in giving of oneself, in words, and in deeds. She is a bright and shining light to me and our family and the entire Castro Valley Community that new her."
