Previously Swiss Delices, the vacant bakery on Santa Maria Avenue will be opening as a crepe shop.
Swiss Delices owner, Christine Clement, kept the old Swiss Delices location and found people to partner with her to open the new crepe shop.
“The closest crepe shop Castro Valley has is Frodo Joes in San Lorenzo,” says Clement. “I felt that Castro Valley could use a crepe place that could serve its residents and residents from other areas.”
The crepe shop will continue to use organic products and fresh fruit from the farmers’ market, like Swiss Delices; and Clement will provide and teach workers how to make the crepes.
Clement is hoping to have it opened sometime during mid-August — depending on how fast the building gets all its permits.
