CVSan: Recycles Day Recap

1,305 Alameda County residential households and Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) businesses attended CVSan's Recycles Day.

On Saturday, July 26th, 1,305 Alameda County residential households and Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) businesses attended CVSan’s Recycles Day event at Canyon Middle School. Attendees dropped off textiles for reuse and Household Hazardous Waste such as medications, sharps, e-waste, and chemicals for proper disposal and recycling. Additionally, 160 CVSan residents participated in a refillable propane cylinder exchange and about 2,955 1-cubic foot bags of compost were distributed to CVSan residents and businesses.

CVSan thanks the community for being conscious consumers and taking the effort to properly manage their materials! The next Recycles Day event will be held in 2026. Appointments will be required. For more details on the event, visit cvsan.org/RecyclesDay early in 2026.
