This Dim Sum Restaurant In Castro Valley Is The Largest In The Country: Report
The dim sum restaurant, HL Peninsula, had its grand opening on Thursday.
CASTRO VALLEY, CA — The largest dim sum restaurant in the United States just opened in the Bay Area, according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle.
HL Peninsula Restaurant in Castro Valley, which took over the former Rite Aid pharmacy, had its grand opening on Thursday, according to the report. It's the company's fifth location in the Bay Area.
It stands at 28,000 square feet, nearly twice as large as Far East Cafe in San Francisco's Chinatown, according to the report.

The establishment said in a post on social media that they're able to sit more than 800 people, and have nine private VIP rooms. They described the location as a "true gathering place for families, friends, and celebrations in the East Bay."
Dim sum is a traditional Chinese meal made up of small, bite-sized dishes, such as potstickers, steamed buns and spring rolls. It is often accompanied by tea.
