Dine For Ukraine Fundraiser In East Bay May 1

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Here is a tasty way to help residents of Ukraine who are struggling to survive the invasion by Russia. Castro Valley Chef Igor Breyman — a native of Odessa, Ukraine — will hold a Dine For Ukraine Fundraiser on May 1. He will serve a 3-course dinner, with wine flights available.

Breyman has extensive experience as an instructor, private chef, and caterer. He currently works for bon appetit at the flagship teaching kitchen at Google.

"The powerful media of food is a media of Memory," Breyman said. "One smell, one taste; carrying you back to your life experiences to where you began."

His family emigrated to the U.S. when he was a child but they maintain ties to relatives and friends in his homeland. The funds raised by this dinner will help Ukrainians struggling for access to food, goods, and services.

The Castro Valley event will include a Silent Auction with gifts from every Castro Valley Marketplace vendor.

There are two dinner seatings available, the first at 5 p.m. followed by the second at 7:30 p.m., on May 1. The event will be held at Castro Valley Marketplace, 3295 Castro Valley Blvd. in Castro Valley, 94546.
