HAYWARD, CA — A driver was recently charged after authorities stopped a vehicle with a 5-year-old in the front seat and a loaded gun in the trunk, according to Hayward police.
The vehicle was initially flagged for a stop sign violation, but it was eventually towed, police said in a Facebook post, adding the driver had a suspended license, an expired registration since 2018 and a warrant.
The driver received multiple citations and two weapons charges, according to police.

“Reminder: In CA, firearms must be unloaded, locked up, and stored separately from ammo when transported,” police said in the Facebook post.
