Some projects allow walk-up volunteers, but others require more planning and advanced sign-up.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — The East Bay Regional Park District is inviting community members to celebrate Earth Day this Saturday, with a day of hands-on volunteer projects across multiple park locations.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to give back to nature through meaningful activities like shoreline cleanups, invasive plant removal, and habitat restoration. Projects will take place at several locations, including Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline, Coyote Hills, Point Pinole, Hayward Shoreline, Point Isabel, Don Castro, and Crown Beach.

Some events allow walk-up volunteers, but others require pre-registration. Those interested can browse opportunities and sign up through the Park District’s 2025 Earth Day event page. Participants are encouraged to act quickly, as spaces for some projects may fill up.
