East Bay Residents Arrested On Suspicion Of 7-Eleven Robbery

The suspects were arrested after attempting to flee the Redwood City store​ just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 1, police said.

HAYWARD, CA — Three East Bay residents were arrested last week on suspicion of an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in Redwood City, according to the Redwood City Police Department.

The suspects — 24-year-old Jylyn Richardson Green from Pittsburg, 19-year-old Deshawn Carter from Hayward and a 15-year-old boy from Hayward — were arrested after attempting to flee the store at 460 Woodside Road just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 1, police said.

Their vehicle crashed near the Marsh Road exit on southbound U.S. Highway 101 and the suspects sustained minor injuries.

Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and several hundred dollars in cash at the scene of the crash, and they believe the money was taken in the robbery.

The suspects were charged with robbery, conspiracy, felony evading and carrying a loaded firearm. Green and Carter were booked into San Mateo County Jail, while the juvenile was booked into Hillcrest Youth Services Center.
