CASTRO VALLEY, CA — One deer got a happy ending after getting stuck in a fence last month in Castro Valley.

It's unclear how the deer got stuck. When the Alameda County Fire Department arrived at the scene just before 7 p.m. on Oct. 28, they found the deer trapped in a fence along Center Street, authorities said.

Photos from the scene show authorities using the "Jaws of Life" to free the deer, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
