Hayward Offers Bonus Gift Cards For Restaurant Month

You'll get a 50 percent bonus when you buy gift cards, up to $100. The City is helping restaurants and businesses hurt by the pandemic.

HAYWARD, CA — The city of Hayward is offering a bonus digital gift card with the purchase of an e-gift card to help support local eateries and retail businesses during California Restaurant Month.

Beginning Saturday, while supplies last, anyone who spends from $20 to $100 for a Together for Hayward gift card will receive a 50 percent bonus card to use at any of 39 participating local restaurants or 35 retail locations.

Bonus cards are limited to three per customer and must be used within 90 days.

The Together for Hayward program is part of the city's efforts to help local businesses recover economically from the COVID-19 pandemic and to help keep revenue local, given that studies show only 14 percent of national chains' revenue stays local, according to the city.
