Hunter, Edwards Gladiators of the Month
Basketball stars and point guards make their teammates better
Congratulations to Nia Hunter and Marcellus Edwards, Gladiators of the Month for January.
Both have played key roles in the men’s and women’s basketball teams’ successful seasons. Edwards, a sophomore point guard, helped No. 19-ranked Chabot open the Coast-North season with a 5-3 record.
A highly dedicated player and strong student, he makes everyone around him better on the court. He is averaging 15 points, four assists and four rebounds in recent action.
The Glads men’s team (16-6 overall) has won four of their last five games in a tough conference.

Likewise, Hunter, a sophomore point guard, is enjoying an outstanding season in the solid women’s program under head coach Mark Anger.
She is averaging 13.8 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals a game in conference play. l
The Glads are 13-10 overall and 4-1 in conference, in second place behind CCSF. She had a huge game in a win over College of San Mateo, 83-72, on Jan. 22, with 24 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals.
