It’s Playoff Time Again For Chabot Baseball
Glads to host San Joaquin Delta in regional playoffs beginning Friday

The Chabot baseball team (27-12) has landed the eighth seed and will host No. 17 San Joaquin Delta (20-20) in the 3C2A NorCal Regionals, May 2-3.
The teams will play a best-of-three series at Steve Friend Stadium, beginning at 2 p.m. Friday. Game 2 is 11 a.m. Saturday. Game 3 would be at 2 p.m. Saturday, if necessary. The winner will advance to the Super Regionals.
Chabot, which has won a combined 90 games over the past three seasons, finished Coast-North Conference play in a three-way tie for first place with Skyline and College of San Mateo.

It marked a Three-peat for the Glads, who have won or shared the past three conference championships. Skyline and CSM also earned playoff berths this season.
Chabot and Delta split a two-game series in nonconference play in February, with Delta prevailing 16-5 at Steve Friend Stadium on Feb. 18, and Chabot gaining an 11-5 win at Delta two days later.

Chabot’s TJ Costello and Daniel Behrmann finished conference play ranked No. 2 and 3 in batting average at .388 and .385, respectively. Costello also had 38 RBI, tied for fourth in conference.
Juan Pablo Manzo has slugged 11 home runs, fourth best in the Coast-North. Behrmann was also third in stolen bases, with 22. In pitching, Daniel Hernandez was fifth in earned run average, at 3.77.
Eli Gennis is second in pitching wins with eight, and Cole Aney is tied for third with seven.
Last year, Chabot swept visiting Merced in the Regional Playoffs and then advanced out of the Super Regionals by besting Santa Rosa and Cabrillo in a double-elimination bracket at Chabot.
A spectacular season ended with a series loss to West Valley in the NorCal Regional finals, 2 games to 1.
