Man Suspected of Killing Castro Valley Woman A Suicide Risk
Jeffrey Griffin Boyce is being closely watched in a Marin County jail. The Oregon man is suspected of killing of Kirsten Elaine Englund, 57, of Castro Valley, and other crimes.

The man suspected of killing Kirsten Elaine Englund is considered a suicide risk by Marin County authorities, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
Thirty year old Jeffrey Griffin Boyce of Oregon is suspected of killing Englund, a 57-year-old Castro Valley resident, as well as committing two carjackings in Marin and Sonoma counties.

He was arrested Monday in Greenbrae.
According the Journal, Boyce's mother told authorities he was having a psychotic bipolar episode and he is being held in a padded cell.

Englund's body was found Sunday morning near Winchester Bay Wayfinding Point on U.S. Highway 101 three miles south of Reedsport, Ore.
In a statement released through Oregon police authorities the Englund family said "We cannot begin to describe the deep void that we will have without her."
Englund graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, and received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
She worked for more than 25 years as a Certified Public Accountant and auditor, first with KPMG in Houston, Texas and later at the former Mervyns Headquarters in Hayward.
The longtime Castro Valley resident retired in 2008 but was active in the Parent Teachers Associations and the Castro Valley Arts Foundation.
She is survived by two sons, a stepdaughter, six siblings, including her triplet sister and brother, and many nieces and nephews, the family said.
