• Vehicle falls off tow truck, ends up on BART tracks in Castro Valley (pleasantonweekly.com) — A serious crash on westbound I-580 sent a towed vehicle onto the BART tracks in Castro Valley Tuesday afternoon, shutting down trains between Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton for hours and backing up freeway traffic. Crews used a crane to remove the car and one person was hospitalized, while one of the two tracks will need major repairs after service ends.
   

• East Bay's November openings include new options for breakfast, dumplings, dim sum and more (richmondside.org) — Castro Valley diners just gained what’s billed as the largest dim sum restaurant in the country, with HL Peninsula opening a massive new location on Castro Valley Boulevard featuring ten dining rooms and an 846-person capacity. The roundup also spotlights several other November restaurant and bar openings across Berkeley, Oakland, Emeryville and Walnut Creek, from Indonesian coffee and cupcakes to pizza, brunch, and a new listening bar.
   

• Local archives preserve history (tricityvoice.com) — If you’re curious about Castro Valley’s past, the Hayward Area Historical Society is actively preserving stories and artifacts from our community alongside neighboring unincorporated areas. From old newspapers to personal memorabilia and classroom kits, staff are inviting residents to share memories and explore how local history is documented and kept alive for future generations.
