Photos: Spoonfuls of Community Support at Restaurant Walk Fundraiser
Proceeds collected from the annual Castro Valley Lions Breakfast Club event are offered to local organizations and causes.
Folks took Castro Village on foot Tuesday evening to sample neighboring restaurant cuisine all while supporting worthy causes.
Sponsored by the Castro Valley Lions Breakfast Club, the 17th annual Restaurant Walk Fundraiser allowed on-the-go diners to sample food from 15 eateries, mostly in the Castro Village Shopping Center.
"We've been to four places and I'm already full," said first-time participant Danielle Keil.

According to Lion member Joe Farias, about 230 of the $15 ticket booklets were sold. Restaurant walkers would surrender their stubs to each listed restaurant in return for a sampling of what the establishment serves.
Farias said the event is usually held the third Tuesday in August.

"It's a slow time in the Village," he said.
Noon Miner of served up her popular Pad Thai dish to participants. She said it's the restaurant's seventh year being part of the walk.
"We just want to help the Lion Club and to be part of the community," she said.
Restaurants do not charge the organization for participating. Instead, all proceeds are offered to local organizations and causes. According to The Daily Review, this year, they went to the following: Bibs and Books, the Boy Scouts, Canine Companions for Independence, Lions Center for the Visually Impaired, Family Emergency Shelter Coalition and Castro Valley High School Sober Graduation.
Many restaurant walkers like Cha Cha Nobriga and her group of friends rested their feet at , which offered a place for diners to sit in the back room.
"This is our halfway point because we get to have a beer or margarita," Nobriga said.
