San Lorenzo High Schools To Receive New Fields and Stadiums

Construction on the projects began this week and will take about a year to complete.

and will be able to make touchdowns, hit home runs and win track meets at their brand new fields and stadiums.

Both schools will receive two new baseball and softball diamonds, resurfaced tennis courts, synthetic-surfaced 400 meter tracks and football fields. (See renderings of the project in the attached photos)

Costing about $6 million per school, the projects are funded by Measure O, which was approved by the voters in November 2008.

Each project will take approximately one year to complete, according to Dr. Lowell Shira, the assistant superintendent for business.

Construction will overlap between the two school projects and some of the facilities will be available during the process.

"For example, the work at San Lorenzo High School is starting this week and the football and track portion of the project will be available for use in August 2012," Shira said. "Work at Arroyo High School will be starting in November 2012, with the football and track portion available for use in August 2013."
