St. John Catholic School Students Create 'Living Wax Museum' For Black History Month

From the Catholic Schools Diocese of Oakland:

On Thursday, Feb. 28 the 3rd and 5th grade classes at St. John Catholic School in San Lorenzo presented a “Living Wax Museum.”

Students in these classes researched a famous African American, wrote a report, and dressed up as “live” models of the famous person.

Each year the 3^rd and 5^th grade class collaborates on this Black History Month project led by teachers Mrs. Boyer and Ms. Pratt. 

Pictured above are three students depicting Garret Morgan who invented the traffic signal, Bessie Coleman who was the first female African American pilot, and Thrurgood Marshall who was the first African American Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
