Catalytic Converter Etching Event For Westwood
Due to rising cases of catalytic converters being stolen in Los Angeles, Pacific Division police are hosting a license plate etching event.
WESTWOOD, CA — Due to rising cases of catalytic converters being stolen in Los Angeles, Pacific Division police are hosting a license plate etching event in the west Los Angeles region.
At the event on Sept. 12, Los Angeles Police Department officers will engrave license plate numbers onto catalytic converters. Residents were instructed to go to the side parking lot at 12312 Culver Blvd for the etchings.
Etchings on catalytic converters make investigations easier for law enforcement when they are reported stolen. It also makes it harder for thieves to sell the stolen part, authorities said.
