Letter from the Editor: Meet the New Westwood-Century City Patch Editor
Sara Fay is the new editor of your local Patch site.

Dear Readers,
My name is Sara Fay and I'm the new editor of Westwood-Century City Patch. I'm so happy to be here and I just want to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you about some of the changes you can expect to see on the site very soon.
I've been with Patch for a little more than a year now. Before coming to this site, I was the editor of the Winnetka-Glencoe Patch on Chicago's North Shore. I graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in the spring of 2010. But I'm a Southern California native. I grew up in San Diego, and four Chicago winters was quite enough for me (I escaped one winter for an internship in California).

My experience: I've worked for The Orange County Register, the Better Government Association (an investigative journalism nonprofit in Chicago), the Medill Innocence Project, an NPR station in northern Michigan and I produced an audio documentary for Chicago Public Radio.
I've also been a counselor and a lifeguard at my old summer camp, a retail store manager, and I studied clarinet performance before I decided to become a journalist.

I figure it's only fair that I tell you a little bit about my story before I ask you about yours. In the next few weeks, you're going to see a lot more news about Westwood and Century City on this site. You'll see more crime reports and business stories, coverage of the subway extension, stories about the LA City Council and high school sports, where to find the cheapest gas in your neighborhood and what to do on the weekends. To start.
Since I've been living here for only two weeks, things might move a little slowly as I get my bearings (and finish unpacking my moving boxes). But, I'd love to start talking to you as soon as possible. You can help me get to know this area better by sending me news tips and emails about what interests you in the community. I'm ready to listen. Please feel free to email me at saraf@patch.com, call me at 310-200-3767 or find me on Twitter and Facebook. If you see me working at , , or at the , please interrupt me and introduce yourself (hint: my laptop has a Patch logo sticker on it). I'm open to feedback, criticism, questions and conversation, so please don't be shy.
Thanks for reading, and I'll see you around.
Sara Fay
