City Of Concord Offering Free Emergency Preparedness Classes

Sign-ups are now being taken for free emergency preparedness classes offered by the City of Concord.

CONCORD, CA -- Sign-ups are now being taken for free emergency preparedness classes, offered by the City of Concord.

The next session of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training begins Thursday, March 30 and meets for six evening sessions from 6:30 to 10 p.m., concluding with a hands-on training exercise.

Participants must be at least 16 years of age. Sessions are held at the fire training facility, 2945 Treat Blvd., Concord.

CERT participants are taught by emergency personnel in basic fire safety, disaster preparedness and terrorism response, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, CERT organization, and disaster psychology. Through training, CERT members become valuable resources to their families and neighbors in the event of an emergency.
