Supervisor Burgis Recovers From Heart Surgery At Concord Hospital
"We're grateful to the medical team at John Muir Hospital Concord and to everyone who has reached out to express their support."

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Contra Costa County Supervisor Dianne Burgis, who represents
District 3, was recovering from heart surgery Tuesday morning after undergoing a planned procedure to replace her aortic valve, according to a statement from her chief of staff Mark Goodwin.
The surgery took about four hours, starting at 8 a.m. Monday and finishing around noon, and Burgis was said to be conscious and joking with friends by the evening. Her hospital stay is expected to continue for about a week, Goodwin said.
"I'm not sure what the greater challenge will be, keeping her away from the work she loves while she recovers or keeping up with her when she gets back, but I look forward to both," Goodwin said. "We're grateful to the medical team at John Muir Hospital Concord and to everyone who has reached out to express their support."
