Water At Pittsburg Schools Safe To Drink: District
The district completed water testing in line with AB 746, which was signed by Gov. Jerry Brown in October 2017.

PITTSBURG, CA — Pittsburg Unified School District officials announced on Friday that drinking water at all schools and two other district buildings is safe to drink. The district said test samples from the 13 schools in the district, the Youth Development Center and Pittsburg Adult Education Center showed none of the locations had an "Action Level" of 15 parts per billion of lead or higher, which would mandate treatment or other action.
Pittsburg water treatment plant officials released the results to the district on Jan. 2 and the results were presented to the school board on Jan. 24.
"This is a reassurance to our community that drinking water is safe in our schools," Janet Schulze, superintendent of the district, said in a statement.
