Work To Replace Aging Downtown Concord Sewer Pipes Begins
City officials said the underground pipes are more than 70 years old.

CONCORD, CA — A sewer replacement project has begun in the areas around Todos Santos Plaza in downtown Concord, city officials announced today. Several roads will be affected by the project but most work will take place at night.
There will be daytime work on Colfax Street between Bonifacio Street and Clayton Road and on both Clayton Road and Concord Boulevard between Grant and East streets, according to the city.
There will be nighttime work on Salvio Street between Galindo and Grant streets, Mt. Diablo Street between Salvio Street and Concord Boulevard and Willow Pass Road between Colfax and East streets.

City crews will also resurface streets, install fiber optic conduits and make minor concrete improvements.

Night work will continue through mid-June and the entire project is scheduled for completion by October, according to the city.
